The Opportunity

The National Association of Pupil Transportation (NAPT) is a 501(c) (6) nonprofit organization that supports a $10.5 billion industry and hosts an annual conference and trade show each year. IC Bus wanted to develop and execute a unique and memorable theme for their sponsored dinner and party.

The Solution

Inspired by the Memphis location of the NAPT event, Gerard developed “Yell’r–N–Blues,” a theme that would transform the convention center’s ballroom into an authentic Blues club, while putting IC Bus branding in the spotlight for NAPT Conference attendees and IC Bus executives alike.

Votive candles flickered in yellow and blue glass holders, harmonicas and IC Bus-branded guitar picks adorned tabletops, specially fabricated displays set the stage as centerpieces and Memphis BBQ was on-hand for everyone to enjoy — all set to an authentic Blues soundtrack.

The result? Attendance was reportedly at a record high. All food was consumed within the first 45 minutes. Every table display was literally taken by attendees. Hundreds of names (with emails and phone numbers) were captured for IC Bus’ database.
